Central Alabama Golf Association
Welcome to the Central Alabama Golf Association (CAGA) website.
The beautiful weather continues! Some showers during the night makes it all the more perfect. Let's pray it continues!! We had 55 players Thursday at Indian Pines. Lee Mercer and James Hall had eagles! Congratulations.
Indian Pines will close at the end of the year to accommodate a major renovation necessitated by the expansion of Auburn University Airport. All pro shop credits must be redeemed no later than Dec 31, 2022 or they're lost!
Similarly, Cypress Tree on Maxwell AFB is closing permanently on June 1. They plan a "going out of business sale" the week of Memorial Day. Once they close, all pro shop credits are lost. Due to the peculiarities of getting onto Maxwell AFB, please contact the CAGA President for assistance in redeeming you credits.
I've been asked to look into the possibility of a diversity event at Lakewinds GC in Jackson Gap. Let me know if you're interested. I'll decide whether to pursue based on the level of interest.
Hope to see y'all next Tuesday at Oak Mountain!
Reminder: When making t-times, be sure to specify that you are playing in the CAGA Dogfight. Notify me as soon as possible at [email protected] if you encounter a problem and I'll try to fix it.
Also, please check dress codes particularly at the private clubs. Blue jeans are a definite no-no at many courses. Arrowhead in particular strictly enforces the "no blue jeans" rule. Also, collared shirts are required at most all of our courses. The dress code is posted on most club's website.
This is your association. Please continue to help make it better by submitting your ideas. Everything will be considered. Help us spread the word, and bring your playing partners to future CAGA dogfights. Anyone with questions can contact the CAGA Administrator at [email protected]
